Since coming home from school a couple of days ago, I have been on the quest to satisfy as many cravings as possible (which is a long, long list by the way haha) before returning back to school in January. One of them is pan-fried wonton noodles topped with pan-fried dumplings (aka pot stickers). Here’s how to make them!

Dumplings

You’ll need:

  • 1 pack of frozen dumplings (I usually use a frozen batch of dumplings homemade by my grandmother, but I ate them all so I had to settle on store-bought dumplings instead)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Canola or olive oil (or oil of choice)

Directions:

1. In a large nonstick pan, add a tablespoon (or more if desired) of oil over high heat.

2. Once the pan is heated up, add dumplings into the pan in a single layer over medium high heat. Heat 30 seconds to 1 minute.

3. Pour about ½ cup of water to the pan over the dumplings. Cover the pan and allow it to cook on low for 10 minutes.

4. Cook the dumplings until they are crisp and golden on the bottom. That's it!

Dumpling sauce

You’ll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of your favorite soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or oil of choice)

  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Directions:

In a small bowl, mix all of these ingredients together and adjust proportions to your liking.

Wonton Noodles

You’ll need:

  • 1 pack of Wonton noodles (you can find this at any Asian Supermarket; there are many varieties—I used Wide Wonton Noodles)

  • Water

  • Canola or olive oil (or oil of choice)

  • Your favorite Asian soy sauces

  • Garlic cloves, finely minced

  • Your favorite (cooked) veggies - this is what you will prepare on your own to your own liking

Directions:

1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Once boiled, add in the noodles. Stir with tongs or chopsticks.

2. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water.

3. In a large nonstick pan over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of oil and about a tablespoon of finely minced garlic cloves.

4. Throw in the cooked noodles. Add your favorite Asian soy sauces and spices. (If you are unsure of how much to put, start with a tablespoon of sauce and a few dashes of spice. Adjust to your liking). Add any of your favorite (cooked) veggies at this time. That's it!

Enjoy, and do let me know if you end up trying any of these!
